Grand Opening Launch Day

June 13, 2017

Friday 2nd June brought sunshine and visitors to True Harvst Seeds!

After three years of planning and hard work, we now have our office, lab and polytunnel in full use at our premises  in Kilclief.

To mark our official launch, we welcomed Margaret Ritchie, Cadogan Enright and CodOg, pupils from St Jospeh’s and St Malachy’s Primary Schools, representatives from TCV, Belfast Naturalists’ Field Club, Ecoseeds, Kilclief Residents Association, Ballyhornan Development Association, Tools for Solidarity and interested locals to mention but a few, to hear all about our work creating a national seed bank for Ireland and our other seed conservation work.

The day was a great success – the sun shone, food was fantastic, children learned about the skills of seed conservation, volunteers signed up to help make seed collections and plans were made on how volunteer and conservation groups can work together to strengthen community links while conserving Ireland’s flora. There was tea and cake all round and everyone there was impressed at the progress made by all the True Harvest Seeds team’s hard work in setting up this charity.

We are now officially open during office hours. If you’re heading out this way, you might want to call the office number first to check we’re not out on a seed collecting expedition 028 4488 1736.
